Welcome

An Unforgettable Experience

Blue Knight History Seminars offers leadership and team development training that centers on a first-hand visit to a great American battlefield, either Gettysburg, Pennsylvania or the Little Bighorn in Montana, site of Custer’s Last Stand. Blue Knight also offers a seminar in Great Falls, Montana, based on the amazing journey of Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery.

Connections to Your Work

Participants spend an entire day touring the actual sites where important leadership decisions were made. Both in the field and in interactive group discussions participants build connections to modern-day business issues and challenges. They leave with meaningful tools and strategies to take back to their work environments.

Sustained Learning

A series of four follow-up meetings over the course of a year sustains and builds upon the learning. It is out of this critical subsequent work that behaviors are changed and improved business results achieved.

“The Gettysburg experience and its examination of the foundational basics of leadership was very relevant for the management team at Bluestem Brands. Jeff Appelquist captured the mood and the essence of the battlefield well, and using this emotional base, translated specific battlefield situations into leadership lessons that hit home for our team. Jeff adapted and tailored his approach, covered all the critical points, and created an unforgettable learning experience for Bluestem that will add value for years to come.”

Brian Smith, CEO Bluestem Brands, Inc.

Proven Results

“The Gettysburg experience allowed me to observe my team and get to know them better in a powerful and unique environment. The follow-on work was key and helped me make several critical decisions about my organization. We saw an immediate improvement in business outcomes helping to drive our growth and leadership goals. I will continue to invest in my leaders through the Blue Knight program.”
Brian Gauger
Senior Vice President, Physician Strategies, Fresenius Medical Services

“I’ve seen my team do a better job of listening and embracing other viewpoints. Because of it, we’ve been able to unify better, which has increased our ability to act as one. That ability to maneuver with a clear vision has translated into increased ability to source addressable spend for our client, and we’ve saved them 25% more than we originally targeted.”
